SACATON - Joey Lee Makil, 37, of Sacaton died on Dec. 17, 2014, at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at Casa Blanca Assembly of God. The celebration of life there will be at 8 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Vah-Ki Cemetery.
Mr. Makil was born on Jan. 1, 1977, in Phoenix. He was a musician and loved to play the drums and do arts and crafts. He was a very good listener and made people laugh, often turning bad situations into something positive.
He loved to eat cookies, watch movies, quote movie lines and watch "Dragon Ball Z." He loved listening to music, especially of Soulfly, and was very helpful.
Survivors include two daughters, Eileena Makil of Casa Blanca and Nala Makil of Sacaton; a son, Xzyrian Makil of Sacaton; his father, Elmer Makil of Casa Grande; and two brothers, Owen Makil of Sacaton and Michael Makil of Phoenix. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ellen Rhodes.
