John Goodwin Brayton

John Goodwin Brayton, 62, of Maricopa died on Feb. 17, 2022.

Mr. Brayton was born on Feb. 28, 1959, in Fargo, North Dakota, to John Paul and Karen Brayton. He graduated from Kindred High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from North Dakota State University. In June 1995, he married the love of his life, and for 22 years they made Arizona their home. He excelled as a vice president for stores at Macy’s Department Stores while simultaneously running a custom home building business with his wife.

In retirement he worked in real estate and was a loan officer. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved following the University of Arizona Wildcats. Basketball was his passion. He was a kind, caring, compassionate man.

He is survived by his wife, Angie Johnson-Brayton; both parents; a sister, Julie Dahl; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Goodwin and Edna Nelson, Lynn and Stella Brayton.


Celebration of life at 3 p.m. on July 23 at 20057 E. Lake Road, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
