John Holland

CASA GRANDE - John T. Holland, 83, of Casa Grande died on Dec. 30, 2017, surrounded by family.

Mr. Holland was born in Chicago to Edward and Louise (Ryan) Holland on July 12, 1934. He had a long career of public service including jobs with the National Park Service and the Arizona Department of Corrections. One of his favorite jobs was serving as an accomplished trainer with the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia, and Artesia, New Mexico.

He was an Air Force veteran and served in Alaska. He married Carol C. Holland on Jan. 16, 1988, in Douglas. During retirement he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and nature, traveling, storytelling and civic engagement.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Scott; his twin brother, Bill; and a daughter, Denise Franklin. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Dianne Young; three stepdaughters, Janet Picone, Sharon Achatz and Debra McElroy; three stepsons, Terry, Dean and Darrel Huish; 16 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Memorial service to be determined and marker plaque to be installed at Mountain View Serenity Gardens.
