John W. Ketcham

ARIZONA CITY - John "Ketch" Ketcham, 93, of Arizona City died Nov. 27, 2007 at home.


The celebration of life began at 10 a.m. Wednesday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel in Eloy, with Pastor Clare Sullivan officiating.

Mr. Ketcham was born Feb. 9, 1914 in Lapel, Ind., and was a son of William and Maude Ketcham. He served in the army in World War II and the Korean War. He was a dentist for more than 40 years. He married Ruby Bennett, his wife of 66 years, on Thanksgiving Day in 1941.

He loved to play the piano and sing with family members. He was a member of the Moose and American Legion and enjoyed euchre, crossword puzzles and telling jokes.

In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters, Jenny L. Williams of Tempe, Benny J. Holt of Bloomington, Ind., and Rebecca L. Jolly of Arizona City; three sons, John W. Ketcham Jr. of Bloomington, Larry F. and Russell R. Ketcham of Arizona City; a sister, Glendora Swaim of Bloomington; a brother, Robert Ketcham of Prescott; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Goin.
