Johnnie Faye Armstrong

ELOY — Johnnie Faye Armstrong, 73, of Mesa died on Jan. 11, 2010 at home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Eloy, with Elder Gregory Dansby officiating. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.
Mrs. Armstrong was born on Aug. 27, 1936 in Lovelady, Texas, and was a daughter of Ada Mae and Bishop Sweat Sr. She was a nursing home caregiver. She was a member of Holy Temple Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and shopping, and her passion was taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include seven daughters, Corine Cade of Mesa, Clara Armstrong of Gilbert, Patricia Williams of Tempe, Wanda, Kathy and Janice Armstrong, all of Mesa, and Mykell King of Los Angeles; four sons, Leevester Armstrong of Tempe, Bonnie Armstrong Jr. of Eloy, Jermaine Hart of Las Vegas, Nev., and Michael Ray of Casa Grande; a sister, Corine Cotton of Eloy; two brothers, Easter Sweat of Eloy and Lawerance Sweat of Casa Grande; 27 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bonnie L. Armstrong Sr.; a daughter, Geraldine Armstrong; three brothers, James, Archie and Bishop Sweat Jr.; two sisters, Lee Ella Thomas and Janice Griffen; and a grandchild, Jody Lee Armstrong.
