Jose Gutierrez

AK-CHIN - Jose Gutierrez, 66, died on April 25, 2018.

Mr. Gutierrez was born on April 7, 1952, to Jose Gutierrez and Maria Quiroz in Ejido Tabasco, Baja California, Mexico. He lived in Scottsdale for five years and the Ak-Chin Indian Community for 15 years.

He married Sylvia on Jan. 23, 1974, in Phoenix.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years; three daughters and a son, Sylvia Maria Gutierrez, Josie Gutierrez, Jose Gutierrez Jr. and Jessica Gutierrez, all of Ak-Chin; three siblings, Aurora Gutierrez, Angela Partida and Ramon Gutierrez of Mexico; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Manuel Rivera, Juan and Federico Gutierrez.

Wake on Sunday, April 29, at the Gutierrez home, with rosary recited at 6 p.m. Funeral Mass celebrated at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 30, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Mission. Burial in Ak-Chin Cemetery.
