Jose Hernandez

AK-CHIN — Jose A. Hernandez, 66, died on May 4, 2011, at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Mission, followed by a wake. Funeral Mass will be celebrated there at 8 a.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Dale Jamison. Burial will be in Ak-Chin Cemetery.
Mr. Hernandez was born on June 27, 1944, in Mexico and was a cement finisher. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening, taking care of his dog and traveling.
Survivors include three sons, Jose Hernandez Jr., John M. Batopis and Andres Hernandez, all of Ak-Chin; a daughter, Patricia Perillo of Ak-Chin; his mother, Alejandra Lara-Garcia of San Antonio, Texas; three brothers, Ernesto H., Rodrigo H. and Juan Manuel H. Lara, all of Mexico; two sisters, Aurora H. and Estela H. Lara of Mexico; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Persilia; his father, Jose V. Hernandez; a sister, Victoria Hernandez Lara; and a brother, Reimundo H. Lara.
