Josefina Martinez

Josefina G. Martinez, 84, of Casa Grande died on Sept. 7, 2011, at home.
Rosary and visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated there at 10. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mrs. Martinez was born on Sept. 22, 1926, in Tucson and was a daughter of Jose Gastelum and Guadalupe Salazar. She was a homemaker and grandma and loved her family. She was an active member of St. Anthony's Church and opened up her home for anyone who needed a place to stay. She was a great cook, a caregiver to all and enjoyed life as much as possible. She loved to travel and spend time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Refujio "Cuco"; five daughters, Maria Martinez of Gilbert, Teresa Munoz, Gloria Martinez and Esther Moreno, all of Casa Grande, and Angelina Hernandez of Eloy; a brother, Rudy Gastelum of Casa Grande; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Arthuro, Tony, Roy, William, Federico and Frank Gastelum; a sister, Lupe Gastelum; and a grandson, Ignacio Armenta.
