Joseph M. Scott
Joe joined the U.S. Army in 1958, where he served at various duty stations including a tour in
Japan. Joe married his best friend and soul mate of 55 years, Traci Hudson on July 1, 1962. He then reenlisted completing his military service at Fort Hood in 1965.
Joe relocated his family to Arizona in 1965 and inally, to Casa Grande in 1966 where they would
remain until Joe’s passing. Joe was very active in 4H and FFA while his children were young, showing livestock all over the West. This passion for animals remained with Joe over the years in the form of regular donations to the Valley Humane Society and his support for rescue animals including his beloved "fur-kids" Boo Boo and Simon. Joe was a hardworking man that did what he needed to take care of his family including long-haul trucking for many years. He was able to come off the road when R&R Donnelly opened in Casa Grande where he worked in Product Control until he retired at the plant closing. Joe continued to work and spent the last 16 years as dispatcher for Al & Riley’s Heating and Air Conditioning where he worked beside his wife, Traci, and daughter, Shannon. Joe was a diehard Yankees and Cowboys fan and loved to collect hats and memorabilia. What Joe loved most, however, was any day on the golf course with his friends or family. Joe was able to combine his love for golf and his charitable nature by providing donations and sponsorships for many charity golf tournaments over the years, especially those in support of the Armed Forces. Some of Joe’s favorite charities include: the Valley Humane Society,
Wounded Warriors Foundation, VFW, Seeds of Hope, C.G. Chamber of Commerce and many others.
Joe is survived by his wife, Traci; son, Martin; daughter, Shannon;
grandchildren, Michael West, Joseph Buell, Daniel Scott, Alina Johnson and
Nikki Scott; brother, T.K. Scott Jr.; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Mt.
View Cemetery with Pastor Dave Landry oficiating.
In lieu of lowers, please make donations to Valley Humane Society in Joe’s name.
