BAPCHULE - Joseph Nathaniel Brown, 32, died on Aug. 9, 2019.
Mr. Brown, called "Joey" by his family and friends, was born on July 19, 1987, and was a son of Irenius Brown and Letitia Miles. He loved spending time with his family and friends and loved all kinds of music.
He performed the Garth Brooks song "The Thunder Rolls" at age 4. Music was a big part of his life and he loved making his own music and performing. Family rappers called him "GI Joe." He enjoyed his dog, Wallace, rescued from an animal shelter.
His companion of 13 years, Cynthia Lugo, was close to his heart. Other survivors include two daughters, Jewels Brown and Marta Lugo; five sisters, Letricia Brown, Regina Catha, Rachelle and Marchell Jose and Nicole Pedro; and four brothers, Brandon Brown, Randy Catha, Jason Jose and Hale Nahsonhoya. He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Donald Nahsonhoya; and a child, Baby Brown.
Funeral Mass celebrated at 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, at St. Peter Catholic Church. Rosary recited at 5:30 p.m. at the District 5 Service Center. Burial at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, in St. Peter Cemetery.
