SACATON - Joseph Robert Sekayouma, 33, of Sacaton died on July 5, 2015, at Chandler Regional Medical Center.
The wake will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at the District 3 Service Center. The funeral will be at 7 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Indian Chapel, with the Rev. David DeFord officiating. Burial will be in North Blackwater Cemetery.
Mr. Sekayouma was born on Aug. 13, 1981, in Phoenix. He worked for Gila River Public Works and liked working with children. He coached soccer and basketball at Gila River Boys & Girls Club and taught Native American culture at Blackwater Community School. He was a southern drummer and gourd dancer.
Survivors include a son, Tyrone King-Sekayouma of Sacaton; his parents, Marcus F. and Corrine Sekayouma of Sacaton; and a sister, Lisa Chimerica of Maricopa.
