Josephine (Josie Gamez) Quintana, 66, of Stanfield, AZ, passed peacefully on February 12, 2025, in Chandler, AZ. She was born on July 18, 1958, in Tahoka, Texas, to Clemente and Elena Gamez.
Josie affectionately known as “mama Jue Jue” will always be remembered as a vibrant soul that embodied a courageous spirit of strength. Her life was a vision of strength, love, beauty, and kindness. Josie was a beloved mother, sister, Tia, Nina, and Nana. She was a nurturer to those around her and was always putting her children and loved ones first. Josie’s love for them was impeccable. She was a fighter with the strength of a warrior, always positive throughout every obstacle that was given to her.
Josie is now reunited in eternal rest with her beloved parents, Clemente and Elena Gamez, as well as her siblings, Rudy and Gilbert Gamez.
Josie is survived by her adoring children, Valentin Nevarez and Erica Quintana (Lauren and Easton). Her legacy will continue through her children and her siblings, Jerry (Rose) Gamez, Clemente (Irma) Gamez, Rebecca (Adolph) Davila, Irma (Jose) Andujo, Esmeralda (Rito) Renteria, Nora Gamez, and Maria (Jesus) Madrid, along with many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held to honor Josie’s life on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the Gardens Chapel, 525 N. Peart Rd. Casa Grande, AZ.Visitation, 2:30 pm, Rosary, 3:30 pm, Scripture Service, 4:00 pm.
