CASA GRANDE - Juan Manuel Santana, 78, of Casa Grande died on Nov. 14, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 2. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:30 by the Rev. Juan Carlos Aguirre. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, with the Rev. Alan Valencia officiating.
Mr. Santana was born on July 12, 1937, in Juchitlan, Jalisco, Mexico, and was a son of Magdaleno and Maria Gonzales Santana.
He was a farmworker and loved horses, doing ranch work and being outdoors. He also loved woodworking, staying busy, singing, dancing and being with his family, especially his grandchildren. He had special nicknames for all of his kids and liked the simple things in life. He was a devout Catholic.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Martha L.; three sons, Manuel Santana of Vacaville, California, Carlos Santana of Yuba City, California, and Jesus Santana of Casa Grande; a daughter, Martha Guerrero of Casa Grande; a brother, Florencio Santana of California; three sisters, Frances Gonzales, Refugio Avalos and Carmen Ponce, all of California; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jose Santana, and four sisters, Lupe Ortiz, Maria de Jesus Santana, Chona Figueroa and Engracia Ruesga.
J. Warren Funeral Services, Mountain View Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
