CASA GRANDE - Juanita Mae Charles, 98, of Casa Grande died on Oct. 28, 2016, at home.
Mrs. Charles was born on Sept. 7, 1918, in Masonville, New York, to William and Leona (Gardner) Schneider. She was a great cook, and her specialties were her pies and pancakes. She loved to go shopping and go out to eat. She had many friends and the family adored her. Her special friend/hairdresser/manicurist/pedicurist Barb always made sure she looked her best.
During her life she was a fiercely protective mother, taking in foster children, loving them as her own. She was full of love and caring for many, especially children. She loved to polka dance. She had a love for music, and Johnny Cash was her favorite singer. She had a great sense of humor and was known to go trick-or-treating on occasion.
Survivors include two daughters, Doreen Brock of Casa Grande and Darlene Couse of Tombstone; a son, Scott Charles of Hilton, New York; a sister, Hazel Bickos of Sidney, New York; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lavern Charles; a son, Robert Vosburgh; a grandson, Kevin Vosburgh; a great-great-granddaughter, Jenika Tolley; and four sisters and brothers, Grace Winner, Orville Schneider, Nellie Moore and Howard Mills.
