June Elaine Blanton

SACATON - June Elaine Blanton, 70, died on Aug. 26, 2015, at home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Sacaton, with the Rev. Loretta Blackwater officiating.

Mrs. Blanton was born on June 18, 1945, in Phoenix. She was a government administrative assistant and a member of First Presbyterian Church. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Ira Hayes Unit 84, and served as treasurer and secretary.

She enjoyed reading, sewing and watching movies. She helped organize reunions of Casa Grande Union High School alumni and the annual Iwo Jima commemoration in Sacaton. She enjoyed visiting family and friends.

Survivors include a son, Ron W. Blanton of Charlotte, North Carolina; her mother, Esther Monahan; three brothers, Virgil Somegustava of Hawthorne, California, Derwin Somegustava of Santa Cruz, Arizona, and Robert Somegustava of Casa Grande; and two sisters, Doris Jackson of Sacaton and Lucinda Williamson of Chandler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron D. Blanton, and her father, Austin Somegustava.
