Junie Christensen

Hans “Junie” Christensen Jr., 69, of Mesa died on Dec. 16, 2010, at Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center in Phoenix.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud Coolidge Chapel. The funeral there will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with Cecil Kinser officiating.
Mr. Christensen was born on Oct. 23, 1941, in Coolidge and was a son of Hans and Nola Christensen. He attended Kenilworth School and Coolidge High School. He served in the Army was a surveyor for the state before retirement. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and his children and grandchildren were his passion.
Survivors include his companion, Sue Viars; two daughters, Pam Christensen of Elgin, Texas, and Sherry Christensen-Soria of Grass Valley, Calif.; a son, Richard Christensen of Coolidge; five sisters, Beverly Mendenhall of Glendale, Shirley Christensen of Scottsdale, Glenda Whisenhunt and Charlene Kinser of Casa Grande and Janette Bivin of Boise, Idaho; a brother, Richard Christensen of Mesa; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie and Ronnie Christensen.
