Junior Galaz

SACATON — Angel Schurz “Junior” Galaz, 49, died on Sept. 5, 2010, at home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 11 p.m. today at the District 3 Service Center, with rosary following at 11 at the Galaz home. The graveside service will be at 6 a.m. Saturday in West Cemetery, with Lloyd Notah officiating.
Mr. Galaz was born on Dec. 19, 1960, in Sacaton. He served in the Army and was District 3 chairman for the Gila River Indian Community. He loved music, played guitar and sang. He took care of his grandchildren and was always there for his family and friends.
Survivors include his companion, Ginette Jackson; two daughters, Angela Galaz-Felix of Sacaton and Alyssa Ware of Chickasha, Okla.; three sons, A. Mark and Angel Galaz III of Sacaton and Steven Galaz of Oklahoma; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Angel Galaz Sr. and Ella Mae Schurz.
