On the evening of September 23, 2016 Justin passed away after a six-month battle with liver disease; while being attended by his loving mother and devoted brother at his home in Florence, AZ. Justin was 20 years old.
Justin Morlan was born in the town of Kennett in Dunklin County, Missouri on May 31, 1996. He was the first son of Heather Morlan and an older brother to Zachary Brasher.
Justin was a kind and loving individual; his mamma said, "he had a kind soul". Justin always had a smile on his face, he loved to joke around, and everybody who knew him loved him. Justin always put everyone else’s thoughts, feelings, and emotions before his own. He once told his grandfather Tommy Morlan, he wanted to be a police officer because he wanted to help people.
Family was what was most important to Justin, but his mother was his world. He once said, "a world without his mom is a confusing and lonely world". Justin was once asked who his favorite person was, here was Justin’s response; "My answer was my mom….Why is it my mom? My mom is that one person who will always be there for me no matter what; she’ll be that one person I can always turn to when I am in trouble or simply just need someone to talk to. I may trust many people but I will never trust anyone nearly as much as I trust my mother. She is understanding and won’t judge me. We may of not had the best past, but she is the reason we made it through. She tries her best as a mother and I respect her 110% and love her more than anything else in the world. I love you mom". During one of Justin’s admission into the hospital after seeing his mother cry because not one doctor could tell her what was wrong with her baby boy, he said to his mother, "mom I don’t want you sleeping here anymore". After his mother was trying to comprehend why he would be telling her this and asked him, "why son", he said, "because I don’t like watching you hurt".
Justin Morlan is survived by his mother Heather Morlan; his brother Zachary Brasher, both at home. He also leaves his maternal grandfather Tommy Morlan, his maternal grandmother Paula Morlan of Portageville MO; his uncle Douglas Morlan; his aunt Joselyn Shiverts of Phoenix, AZ; his aunt Ashley Lacey of Portageville MO; his cousins Brianna and Erin Morlan of Phoenix AZ; and his great grandmother Connie Shankle of Portageville MO.
