Kathy Lavern Whitfield

CASA GRANDE - Kathy Lavern Whitfield, 71, of Casa Grande died on Jan. 4, 2017, at home, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Whitfield was born on Aug. 9, 1945, in Sikeston, Missouri, to T.R. and Dora Lee McGaha.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Earl; four adult children, Gene Freeman, Ted Freeman, Brad Whitfield and Tara Chambers; a sister, Ruby VonRonne; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three siblings, Earl and David McGaha and Ann Petty, and two grandchildren, Dustin and Katelyn Whitfield.

Visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. Funeral at 11, with the Rev. Scott Bailey officiating. Interment in Mountain View Cemetery.
