Kenneth Matthews Ashcraft

Kenneth Matthews Ashcraft, aged 94, of Coolidge, passed away peacefully at his home on February 28, 2025. Born in Peoria on April 12, 1930, he was the son of Henry and Opal Ashcraft.

Kenneth honorably served his country in the United States Army for eight years. He had a passion for Western films, particularly those featuring John Wayne. An enthusiastic participant in community life, Kenneth enjoyed yard sales, both as a seller and a buyer, and took delight in spending time outdoors, especially observing birds. Known for his affable nature, he had a remarkable ability to connect with others and was a cherished father to his children.

He is survived by his daughters, Ann Ashcraft and Patsy Ashcraft, and son, Calvin M. Ashcraft; his siblings, Charlie Ashcraft, Robert Ashcraft, Kathy Gough, and Trudy Jones; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his sons, Patrick Ashcraft, Jimmy Bertolet, and Mike Ashcraft; his parents, Henry and Opal Ashcraft; his siblings, Clara Moore, Bill Ashcraft, George Ashcraft, Alvin Ashcraft, Clifford Ashcraft, and Gloria Collins; and a granddaughter and grandson.

A memorial service honoring Kenneth’s life will take place on Saturday, March 29, at the Coolidge Church of Christ, beginning at 11 AM, followed by a luncheon. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.
