Larry Michael Calhoun

CASA GRANDE - Larry Michael Calhoun, 74, died on Jan. 8, 2019.

Mr. Calhoun was born on March 16, 1944, to Walter W. Calhoun and Catherine A. Dreves in Sioux City, Iowa. He loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed playing pool and reading.

He was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 231 in Sioux City for more than 50 years. He loved his dog Megan and one that died earlier, Cherie. He worked at Ace Hardware in Maricopa for nine years.

Survivors include his wife, Marlys S.; six adult children, Kelly Calhoun of Tacoma, Washington, Kimberly Peterson of Sioux City, Jeremy Calhoun of Greenville, South Carolina, Stacy Mitchell Wallschlaeger of Mesa, Kenneth Mitchell Jr. of Motley, Virginia, and Susan Stolpe of Omaha, Nebraska; two siblings, Margaret Hansen of Sloan, Iowa, and Grace Kavanaugh of Sioux City; and many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Calhoun, and two stepchildren, Tony and Veronica.

Visitation beginning at 6 p.m. and rosary recited at 7 on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. Funeral Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Divine Mercy Chapel of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church by the Rev. Ariel Lustan.
