Laura Jackson

SACATON — Laura Marie Jackson, 54, of Sacaton died on Jan. 30, 2012, at Caring House.
The wake service will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the District 3 Service Center, with a service continuing after 10 at the Jackson home. The graveside service will be at 7 a.m. Saturday in West Cemetery. Cyrus Johnson will officiate.
Ms. Jackson was born on Sept. 5, 1957, in Sacaton. She attended Mesa Community College and Central Arizona College and received an associate degree in early childhood development. She worked in education beginning in 1990, at Sacaton Head Start and in child care.
She enjoyed doing word puzzles, shopping, listening to oldies music and spending time with family and friends. She loved working with children because they brought love, laughter and happiness into her life. She wanted to have a positive impact and teach them things that would last a lifetime.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Chrissy and Irene Manuel of Sacaton, and a brother, Derek P. Jackson of Sacaton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer P. Jackson and Rogene Stevens, and a brother, Harlan Jackson.
