Laura Teresa Joaquin

SANTA ROSA VILLAGE — Laura Teresa Joaquin, 94, died on Jan. 1, 2010 at Archie Hendricks skilled nursing center in Sells.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 5 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Catholic Mission by the Rev. Ignatius DeGroot. The graveside service will be at 7:30 a.m. Thursday in Santa Rosa Cemetery.
Mrs. Joaquin was born on Dec. 15, 1915 in Santa Rosa and was a daughter of Teresa and Jose Ahill. She was a cook at Santa Rosa Boarding and Day School. She was a godmother to many and helped raise several grandchildren. She also was a basket weaver. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Mission.
Survivors include two daughters, Jeannie Joaquin and Leona Garcia; a son, Floyd Joaquin; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose A. Jr.; two daughters; a son; and brothers and sisters.
