ELOY - LaVern Chase Livingston, 93, died on Aug. 31, 2018, in Eloy.
Mrs. Livingston was born on May 17, 1925, to I.V. Vaughn and Alberta Dotson in Chandler, Texas. She loved cooking, writing cookbooks, sewing, rummage sales and spending time with family and friends, especially her best friend, Parlee Bradley.
Everyone knew about her famous egg pies, cakes and overall cooking. She also loved hats.
Survivors include five daughters, LaVelma Byrd of Chino, California, Lillie V. Berry of Florence, Marilyn L. Bratton of Ontario, California, Deborah A. Thomas of Highland, California, and Alberta F.M. Thornton of Eloy; two sons, Adorphas Chase of Yuma and A.C. Edward Chase of Eloy; a sister, Iva P. Nelson of Compton, California; 26 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two husbands, A.C. Chase and William Livingston; two daughters, Rosie M. Bennett and Francine Chase; three sons, Willie C., C’Ordies and Andy L. Chase; five sisters, Eddie B. Moore, Irene Davis, Erma DeGrate, Lottie Chase and Lorece Wright; and three brothers, L.T., Willie and Royce Vaughn.
Visitation beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 14, at Casa Grande Assembly of God, with funeral at 10. Burial in Eloy Memorial Park.
