CASA BLANCA — Lavina "Vina" Thompson Catha, 81, of Casa Blanca died on Feb. 14, 2013, at home, surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday at the Catha home. The funeral will be at 8 a.m. Saturday at Baptist Indian Chapel, with the Rev. Aaron Johns officiating. Burial will be in Vah-Ki Cemetery.
Ms. Catha was born on Dec. 7, 1931, in Komatke and was a daughter of Wilbur and Pauline Thompson. She was a certified nursing assistant and enjoyed sewing, cooking for the family and church. She was a member of Baptist Indian Chapel, enjoyed listening to gospel music and was a very disciplined mother.
Survivors include five sons, Delvin Catha, Waylon Nacho, Bruce and Manfred Catha, all of Casa Blanca, and Bryan Catha of Phoenix; a daughter, Verlene Thompson of Santan; a sister, Eula Thompson of Phoenix; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Darwin Thompson; two daughters, Rozetta and Neva Catha; a brother, Wilford Thompson; a sister, Bertha Thompson; and a great-grandchild, Artie Harrison Jr.
