COOLIDGE - Leonard "L.D." Anderson, 84, of Casa Grande and a longtime farmer, died April 23, 2008 at St. Luke's Medical Center in Phoenix.
Visitation began at 9 a.m. Friday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The funeral followed at 10. Burial was in Coolidge Valley Memorial Park.
Mr. Anderson was born Sept. 23, 1923 in Houston and was a son of Alton D. and Katie M. Anderson. He served in the Navy. He enjoyed raising cotton and other crops and also going to coffee shops. He was very generous and enjoyed helping others.
He loved God and was a longtime member of Valley Community Fellowship Church of the Nazarene in Coolidge. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Velva (Wilkins) Anderson; three daughters, Sharon Jeske of Chandler, Patty Russ and Brenda Sarnowski of Casa Grande; a brother, Alton Anderson of Dallas; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Hunnicutt and Lorene Metcalf, and a granddaughter, Shelly Church.
