Lera Lee "Murr" McKaughan, 90, of Casa Grande died on Jan. 27, 2013, at home.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Southern Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 1:30, with the Rev. Phil Calvert officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mrs. McKaughan was born on June 3, 1922, in Grit, Texas, and was a daughter of J.W. and Martha (Lange) Deering. She married James A. McKaughan on Aug. 3, 1940. They moved to the Eloy area in 1947 and grew cotton. She was a homemaker and an active member of Trinity Southern Baptist Church. Her strong Christian faith helped her in recovering from five major cancer surgeries and a broken back. She thoroughly enjoyed being an Avon representative for 35 years.
She was a life member of the PTA and always was involved in her family's school events. She was generous with her time and always a caregiver for any family member or friend in need.
Survivors include two daughters, Rosalind (Dick) Myers of Casa Grande and Sharrilyn (Jim) Honacki of Flagstaff; two sons, Harold (B.J.) McKaughan of Casa Grande and Stephen (Regina) McKaughan of Washington Terrace, Utah; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years; six brothers; and three sisters.
Donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
