SACATE — Leroy Joe, 63, of Sacate died on Nov. 22, 2011, at St. Joseph's Hospital & Medical Center in Phoenix.
Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Friday at Billy Farris Memorial Hall, with visitation continuing until 10. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church by the Rev. Ed Meulemans. Burial will be in Sacate Cemetery.
Mr. Joe was born on Sept. 14, 1948, in Ganado and was an irrigation maintenance worker. He enjoyed going to casinos, playing the state lottery, spending time with his grandchildren, farming and watching football.
Survivors include a son, Michael Joe of Sacate; four daughters, Johana and Clorice Joe of Sacate, Tracy Coffin of Stotonic and Cindy Coffin of Casa Blanca; two brothers, Able Joe of Ganado and Phillip Joe of Steamboat; four sisters, Erma Jean Lee and Arlene George of New Mexico, Marlene Bahe of Steamboat and Emily Murray of Sanders; his mother, Emma Begay of Steamboat; 24 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, John Joe; a brother, Virgil Joe; and a great-grandchild.
