Leuna Simmons

Leuna Simmons, 89, of Youngtown died June 8, 2007 at Cook Health Care in Youngtown.

The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud Coolidge Chapel, with the Rev. Randy Campbell officiating. Private inurnment will be in Florence Cemetery.

Mrs. Simmons was born May 27, 1918 in Gravelly, Ark., and was a daughter of James and Ethel Yates. She lived in Coolidge for 33 years. She later lived in Parker and was very active in The Does and First Southern Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda L. Pitzer of Whitman; two sons, Jeff Simmons of Phoenix and Gary Simmons of Parker; a brother, Leon Yates of Coolidge; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Lloyd W.; four sisters; and a brother.
