Lew Ester Renard, 91, of Casa Grande died on Dec. 18, 2012, at The Garnet of Casa Grande.
The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at J. Warren Funeral Services, Mountain View Chapel, with Harry Bolwyn officiating.
Mrs. Renard was born on April 23, 1921, in St. John, Kan., to Lewis and Ester Henderson. She graduated from Beatrice (Neb.) High School and the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. She married the love of her life, Hugh M. Renard, on May 28, 1944, in Beatrice.
She taught home economics for 24 years, primarily at Blair (Neb.) High School. She was known for motivating her students and obtained a Master of Science degree in 1964. She loved to play bridge and enjoyed the arts. She played violin and belonged to the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra for a couple of years. She was a member of PEO, HL Chapter in Blair. She and her husband loved to travel and visited much of the United States, the Caribbean and Europe. They lived in Pierce, Wahoo, Omaha, Nashville and Blair, Neb., Tucson and Casa Grande.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Hugh Renard II of Casa Grande, Robin Renard of of Bennington, Neb., and Jerry Renard of Curtis, Neb.; 11 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Kilpatrick.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association.
