Linda D. Jennings

September 22, 1944 — October 8, 2017

Linda D. Jennings, 73, of Casa Grande earned her wings on October 8, 2017. During a two year battle with cancer, she decided to be joyful about having had a great life rather than be sad about having it end. She fought the battle, she fought the war and now she joyfully walks with Jesus.
Linda was born on September 22, 1944 to Thomas V. and Dorothy A. Fussell. She attended Central High School in Phoenix and Northern Arizona University and later earned her degree in elementary education from Arizona State University. Teaching K-8 in the Pinal County Public School System, she dispensed curriculum and life lessons and made sure each student felt loved, safe and important. Never one to be idle,
upon retirement from teaching, she went to work for Fry’s Food and Drug as retail manager.
Some of the biggest joys in her life were her daughter and grandson. Linda would swell with pride when speaking of what wonderful human beings they had become and her eyes would twinkle when relaying stories of their mischievous exploits.
She had a soft spot for animals, quiet early mornings with a good cup of coffee, old movies, history, literature, art, deep fried oysters and Snickers bars - in no particular order. Linda had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and almost always had pen and paper nearby to make notes for further research. She possessed a quick and keen sense of humor.
She is survived by her daughter, April (Chad) Crimmins, Casa Grande; Aunt, Margaret Chapman, Sierra Vista; brother, Thomas R. (Karin) Fussell, New Mexico; grandchild, Chris(Janice) Crimmins, Casa Grande; one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Margaret Wise. Not one to be fussed over, Linda requested no services. Everyone who remembers her is encouraged to celebrate her memory in their own way. In lieu of flowers, she would want you to do an unexpected act of kindness. Be nice, hold the door, read to a child and make someone smile.
Fly, "Earth Goddess’, fly. You are truly missed and we are better for having known you.
