AK-CHIN — Lino M. Valles Sr., 70, died on June 15, 2010, at Maravilla Care Center in Phoenix.
The wake will begin at 6 p.m. Monday at the Valles home. The funeral will be at 6 a.m. Tuesday at Ak-Chin Bible Church. Burial will be in Ak-Chin Cemetery.
Mr. Valles was born on Sept. 23, 1939, in Mexico and was a son of Blas and Georgia Valles. He was a farm foreman. He loved spending time with his family, especially the children, and friends. He enjoyed working on his cars and caring for his horses. He loved listening to music and dancing and always had a smile.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth N.; four daughters, Dorothy Lewis, Carmen DeLeon, Leta Yarberry and Lisa Garcia, all of Ak-Chin; six sons, Leo Lewis of Ak-Chin, Loren Lewis of Casa Blanca, Davidson Ugalde Sr., Blas Valles II and Lino Valles Jr., all of Ak-Chin, and Mark Tavares of Stanfield; six sisters, Mary Valles, Stella Rojas, Virginia Valles and Amelia Moreno, all of Tucson, Inez Phillips of Phoenix and Jane Medrano of Texas; 30 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lydia Grey, and a granddaughter, Joy Lewis.
