SACATON — Llewellyn B. Whitman, 66, of Oregon City, Ore., died on Dec. 23, 2011, at Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, Ore.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today at the Danny Terry home. The graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in East Sacaton Cemetery, with the Rev. Aaron Johns officiating.
Mr. Whitman was born on March 31, 1945, in Sacaton and was a son of Earl and Barbara Whitman. He served in the Marine Corps and was a shipyard boilermaker. Llewellyn lived in Oakland, Ca for many years and he loved the Oakland Raiders. Llewellyn loved his culture and spoke in his native tongue every chance he got. He enjoyed going for rides, nature, and seeing new places. He loved to draw, play video games, listen to all kinds of music and he especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheila Laukala of Kent, Wash., and Sonya Varin of Gooding, Idaho; a son, Tracy Whitman of Vancouver, Wash.; three sisters, Brenda Whitman of Sacaton, Linda Johnson and Carol Whitman of Oregon City; five brothers, Danny Terry, Errol and Brian Whitman, all of Sacaton, Lodalis Whitman of Oakland, Calif., and Vernon Whitman of Washington state; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Duane and Edwin Whitman, and a sister, Sandra Campbell.
