William “Lloyd” Corl of Mason, Michigan went to be with the Lord peacefully on March 29, 2021 in Casa Grande, Arizona, at the age of 78 years. Lloyd was born to Edwin and Harriett Corl July 27, 1942 in Maybee, Michigan. He was raised in Milan, Michigan and graduated from Milan High School. He married Marlene Ann Mullins on June 30, 1962 and had three children.
After graduation Lloyd spent and enjoyed a few summers in Wyoming working on his Uncle Luke’s cattle ranch. He was an avid baseball player, including a short stint in the minor league system. He was a lifelong U of M True Blue fan. Lloyd played and coached baseball, blooper ball, and softball throughout his life including senior ball in Lansing, Michigan and Casa Grande, Arizona. After retirement, Lloyd spent his winters in Casa Grande, Arizona enjoying the warm weather playing golf and softball, hiking, biking, and bowling. He was known for his power hiking in the mountains around Casa Grande. He always went out of his way to help anyone in need at home and in his retirement community.
Lloyd loved his family especially all his grand and great grandchildren. He spent his summers in Mason, Michigan with his daughter always on the lawn mower or helping with whatever needed to be done. He had a special bond with his grandson Rory and it meant the world to him to play catch, do batting practice, take him to baseball practice, and watch his games.
Lloyd will be sadly missed by his children Richard (Kendra) Corl, Lisa (Brian) Mazure, and Robert (Anne) Corl. His grandchildren Randall (Ivy), Mallory (John), Grace, Aiden, and Rory and his great grandchildren Sophia, Reina, Raven, and Selena. He is also survived by his sisters Ardith Morey, Jenne Sue Corl, Roxanne Truhn, and sister-in-law Sue Corl. He will be greatly missed by his best friend of over 70 years Bob Gee and all his friends, fellow hikers, and softball buddies at Sundance RV Resort.
He was preceded in death by his mother Harriett, father Edwin, step-mother Edith, sister Laura Lee, brother James, and brother-in-laws Eugene Morey and Joe Truhn.
A cremation will take place in Casa Grande Arizona with a service to be held in Michigan at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice on behalf of Lloyd.
