Lois Mae Carrick

November 1, 1944 – March 13, 2024

Casa Grande, AZ and Redmond, Wash.

Lois Carrick passed away peacefully on March 13, 2024, in Casa Grande, AZ. She was born to Everett and Margaret Riley on November 1, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan.

She was married to her husband Michael for 59 years.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, brother Edward, brother Gerald, son Guy, and grandson Riley.

She leaves behind her husband Michael, son Matthew (Dina), son Scott (Natalie), sister Molly, grandchildren Alexandra, Jack, Tristan (Gina), Joe, Audrey, Madison, Thomas, and her kindred spirits Shelly and Caprice. She was Aunt Lois to twenty-one nephews and nieces.

Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, she and husband Michael moved to Redmond, Washington soon after college where they resided for thirty-five years prior to retirement. They relocated to Arizona where they spent several years traveling in their RV until they settled in Casa Grande. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved laughter, traveling, and planting flowers. Her greatest achievement and pride though were her children and grandchildren.

At her request there will be no funeral service after cremation. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in her name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Hospice of the Valley for their excellent care and compassion while providing for Lois’s needs.

Miss me a little while — but not too long,

and not with your head bowed low.

Remember the love that we once shared,

miss me — but let me go.

And bury your sorrow in doing good deeds,

Miss me — but let me go.
