Lois Gene Hammer

Lois Gene Hammer, 85, of Casa Grande died on June 30, 2010, in Gilbert.
The graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mrs. Hammer was born on Jan. 9, 1925, in Monroe, Iowa, and was a daughter of John E. and Julia Spain. She was a secretary for the Casa Grande Elementary School District before retirement. She and her husband owned and operated Hammer’s Automotive for 25 years. She enjoyed making quilts, crocheting and sewing and also crossword puzzles and travel. She played the piano and keyboard.
Survivors include her husband, Curtis F.; two sons, Russell Hammer of Gilbert and Marvin Hammer of Casa Grande; a sister, Dorothy J. Johnson of Mitchville, Iowa; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
