Lois “Slim” Keeton, 87, of Casa Grande died on Nov. 11, 2010, at home after a long illness, surrounded by his family.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The funeral will follow at 10, with Pastor Louis Hulsey officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mr. Keeton was born on March 4, 1923, in Fairfield, Texas, and was a son of Ira and Curley B. Keeton. He served in the Army during World War II. He received his education and learned farming skills in Texas, then moved to Eloy. He did farm work and later moved to Maricopa, then to Casa Grande. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved his family and spending time with them. He loved attending Living Waters Church.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Maud A.; four sons, Louis J. Keeton of Casa Grande, Harvey Strange of San Diego, Ira B. Keeton of Mesa and Charles R. Keeton of Casa Grande; four daughters, Betty J. Lyles of San Diego, Susan Pitts and Delores Keeton Perkins of Casa Grande and Mary L. Myers of Eloy; a sister, Verta B. Haygood of Casa Grande; 25 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Alice Faye Keeton, and four brothers, Robert, Edgar, Elmus and Nathaniel Keeton.
