Lola Baker

Lola W. Baker, 87, of Casa Grande, a retired music teacher, died on Aug. 1, 2010, at home.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The funeral will follow at 10, with the Rev. Carolyn Scribner officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mrs. Baker was born on July 27, 1923, in Blair, Neb., and was a daughter of Edward and Wiebrie Yates. She married on Feb. 25, 1945. She was a music teacher for two years in Nebraska and in the Casa Grande Elementary School District from 1969 until retirement. She also taught piano in Casa Grande and played organ and piano for weddings and quincea�eras in the Casa Grande area.
She was a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star and a member of United Methodist Church of Casa Grande, where she was organist and choir director for many years. She loved growing bearded iris and baking lemon meringue pies and cinnamon rolls.
Survivors include three sons, W. Thomas Baker and Ward A. Baker of Casa Grande and James G. Baker of Norfolk, Neb.; two sisters, Edna Bachle of Auburn, Neb., and Eleanor Adamson of Lincoln, Neb.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Korah A., and a son, Edward R. Baker.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Valley Humane Society.
