Lola Zamora Nava, 98, of Casa Grande, AZ, passed away on May 23, 2024, at her daughter Dora’s home.
Lola was born in Coleman, Michigan during the cold days of November. Her parents, Refugio Zamora and Rita Cardenas had a large family. Lola was the eldest of seven children. She then met Serapio Nava, husband of 72 years. They met on the farms of Indiana in 1940. This led to many years together with family and friends celebrating life. They married on December 12, 1941, and had their first child, Encarnacion “Chon” in 1942. Then in 1943, their daughter Dora was born. Both were born in Indiana. In 1958, Lola moved with her husband and family to Los Angeles, California. Soon after they were blessed with their second son, Jesus, born August 9, 1959, where they settled to raise their family. Lola was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandma, great-grandma, and great-great grandma. She was our rock and was there for you when you needed her. Lola loved traveling, gardening, cooking, and extremely crafty, and had all the tricks. Most we will fondly remember Lola for her enormous heart, servant of God, sharp mind, and her deep love for her family and friends.
Lola is survived by her siblings; Irene Verdugo, Salvador Zamora, and Pedro Zamora; Children: Dora Diaz, Jesus Nava, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Lola is preceded in death by both her parents, and husband: Siblings: Bonifacio ‘Barney’ Zamora, Florencio ‘Lencho’ Zamora, Aurelia Rojas, and a son, Encarnacion “Chon” Nava.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 201 N. Picacho St. Casa Grande, AZ.
Visitation, 9:00 am, Rosary, 9:30 am, Mass, 10:00 am, and burial to follow at Mt. View Cemetery.
