Lorene Lynn Horton

AJO-- Lorene Lynn Horton, 68, passed away on September 1, 2020 in Goodyear, with family by her side. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 20, 1952 to Robert and Charlotte Kaltz. After graduating high school in 1970, she became a certified medical assistant. Lorene eventually transitioned to medical billing and later worked as a cook at a retirement home. She retired in November of 2010. She married Patrick Horton on August 21, 1985 in Chesterfield, Michigan. They lived in New Haven, Michigan for over twenty years before moving to Malta, Montana in 2006. They made Ajo their home in 2012. She was a member of the Catholic faith. Lorene found great joy cake decorating, sewing and crocheting. She would often be found browsing her favorite online crocheting groups. She operated her own cake-decorating and sewing business in Ajo.
Lorene was preceded in death by her father, Robert Kaltz; and by her brother, Dennis Kaltz. She was survived by her mother, Charlotte Kaltz; her husband of 35 years, Patrick Horton; by her sons and daughters-in law David & Teresa Slovak, Shaun & Lindsey Moore, and Keith Moore; by her daughter Kristie Horton; by her brothers Brian Kaltz, Melvin Kaltz, and Bruce Kaltz; by her sisters Eulene Geary and Christina Taubitz; and by her 12 grandchildren.
