Lorenza Martinez

Lorenza Hernandez Martinez, 93, of Casa Grande died on Feb. 21, 2013, at home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel, with rosary recited at 6. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church by the Rev. Rudy Rosales. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mrs. Martinez was born on Sept. 7, 1919, in Devine, Texas, and was a daughter of Josephine and Abraham Hernandez. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the young children. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and word searches and watching game shows on TV. She had a very good memory for birthdays, other dates, times and names regarding all family members. She was a member of St. Anthony's Church, and her Christian faith made her a strong person through life's trials. She was known for her beautiful smile.
Survivors include three daughters, Dora Mendez of San Antonio, Texas, Candida Avila of Tucson and Jane Montijo of Casa Grande; three sons, Tony Martinez of Surprise, Jesse Martinez of Tucson and Abraham Martinez of Kansas City, Kan.; 21 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus; two sons, Victor and Santos Martinez; five sisters, Concha, Angelica, Mary, Raymunda and Maria; and five brothers, Manuel, Celestino, Jose, Juan and Gregorio.
