Lorenza Velasquez

July 28, 1914 — June 6, 2018

ELOY - Lorenza Velasquez, 103, died on June 6, 2018.

Mrs. Velasquez was born on July 28, 1914, in El Capulin, Guanajuato, Mexico, to Eugenio and Dolores Lancarte Diaz. She had been a resident of Eloy for the past 82 years and had been a farmworker. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, walking around Eloy and a little bit of carpentry.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Zacarias; two sisters, Cruz D. Ramirez and Mary Flores, and two other sisters who died at a young age; and three brothers, Hilario, Guadalupe and Manuel Diaz. She is survived by her nieces and nephews.

Rosary recited at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 15, at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church. Funeral Mass celebrated at 10:30 by the Rev. Virgilio "JoJo" Tabo Jr., with Deacon Pat Abiles assisting. Burial in Eloy Memorial Park.
