Lori Ann "Pookie" Bigham Vasquez

MARICOPA - Lori Ann "Pookie" Bigham Vasquez, 54, of Maricopa died on Aug. 24, 2018.

Ms. Vasquez was born in Stanfield on Aug. 5, 1964, to Jim and Mozell Bigham, the third of five children. She attended Santa Cruz Valley Union High School, was very active in sports and enjoyed volleyball and softball. After high school, she attended Lamson Business College in Tucson. A firm believer in education, she pursued a bachelor’s degree at Central Arizona College. She finally achieved her bachelor’s degree goal in business and finance with the University of Phoenix.

She worked at Eloy City Hall for 10 years and continued her career with First American Title in Casa Grande for 13 years. She moved to Cleveland in 2008 and returned to her native Arizona in 2010. Up until her death, she worked for Chase Bank in Phoenix. She was well known as a kind and gentle soul and could light up a room with her beautiful smile. She always put her family first. She worked and accomplished much for her only child.

She was preceded in death by her father and her grandfather Herman Boykin. Survivors include a son, Alexander P. "Ajay" Vasquez of Chandler; her mother, Mozell Hicks of Arizona City; two sisters, Mary J. Bigham-Garza and Sharon D. Sweat of Tucson; two brothers, Gregory Bigham of Casa Grande and Danny Bigham of Arizona City; and a granddaughter.

Celebration of life beginning at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 7, at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande, with the Rev. Brian Chambers officiating. Burial in Eloy Memorial Park.
