Louella June Mitchem, 87, of Blackwater, died at home, February 19, 2022. Louella was born January 1, 1935, in Sacaton, to Vincent and Josephine Blackwater. Louella was a woman of great faith. She was a member of Blackwater Presbyterian Church and sang in the choir. She retired from Blackwater Community School after many years and was very active with the Senior Center. She loved to travel and was a huge sports fan. Her favorite teams were the Arizona D-Backs, Phoenix Suns, and the Dallas Cowboys. You could always catch her at a Coolidge Bears’ game. Louella was great to be around, she was funny, kind and very generous. She was always happy. Family meant everything to her. She had a special bond between each of her siblings. She loved being around her family and grandkids.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Chuigo, Cheryl Pablo, Diane Daniels and a son, Gregory Mitchem, her sisters, Oreen Johns, Idella Poocha, Mary Blackwater, 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Josephine Blackwater, her siblings, Louis Blackwater, Everett Blackwater, Harriet Morgan, Geneva Blackwater and two grandsons, Derrick and Cedric Chuigo.
