Louis Lawrence
CASA GRANDE - Louis Irving Lawrence, 88, of Casa Grande died on Nov. 28, 2015.
Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Dec. 11 at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The funeral will follow at 9. Burial will be in National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road in Phoenix.
Mr. Lawrence was born on Feb. 19, 1927, in San Luis Obispo, California, and was a son of Robert I. Lawrence and Bessie L. Hamilton. He had a career in the Air Force and retired as a colonel in 1976 after 26 years, including service in World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam War. He was awarded two Distinguished Flying Crosses.
He was a member of Masons and Shriners and loved reading, especially history and current events. He also loved watching old westerns and being outside tending to his cherry tomato garden. He attended Christian Church of Casa Grande.
Survivors include three daughters, Rachel E. Lopez of Casa Grande, Phyllis A. Gunderson of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Patricia L. Rink of Castle Rock, Colorado; a son, Robert I. Lawrence of Lakewood, Washington; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances V., and a brother, Hiram A. Lawrence.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
