It is with great sadness that the family shares the passing of Louis Ramirez of Coolidge, AZ on December 22, 2021 at the age of 80.
Louis was a proud veteran of the US Navy. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor with his brother, David where he played 2nd base for the Naval baseball team. In high school he was honored to be a member of the 1958 Rock Falls Rockets state basketball team. He was a champion bass fisherman and traveled to numerous tournaments across the midwest. He enjoyed golfing regularly and parred the last hole of golf he played. He was a die hard Cubs fan and was so excited to see them finally win the World Series.
After being discharged from the Navy he moved back to Rock Falls where he worked for Northwestern Steel and Wire until retirement.
Louis will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 55 years Mariam (Franks) and children Tony (Cheri) Ramirez and Tracy (Doug) Greer. He will also lovingly be remembered by siblings Angie (Ron) Johnson, Rene (Robin) Aguilera and Sylvia (Larry) Hart. He had a special love for his grandchildren Heather, Anthony (Sydney), Matthew, Paige, and Bryce, as well as his great-grandson, Liam, and soon-to-be great-granddaughter, Charlotte. His many nieces, nephews, and in-laws will miss their beloved Uncle Louie.
He was preceded in death by his son James Ramirez, grandparents Manuel and Beatrice Garcia, his parents Salud Mary Castro and Louis Ramirez Sr and brother Chuck Aguilera. Louis and his brother David passed together on December 22 due to differing health complications.
Internment will be at Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery at Marana on January 3rd with military honors.
