Lucy Alvarez

ELOY - Lucy Olivia Alvarez, 64, of Eloy died on Jan. 5, 2014, at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Trekell Building in Casa Grande. The celebration of life will follow at 11, with Branch President Jorge Garcia officiating. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.

Ms. Alvarez was born on Dec. 13, 1949, in Tucson and was a daughter of Manuel and Matilda Alvarez. She was a farmworker and liked to sew and make crafts, draw and paint. She loved animals, dancing, singing, being with her family, including her nieces and nephews, and going to church. She was a happy person.

Survivors include three sisters, Maria Jimenez of California, Maria A. Alvarez and Delia Bautista of Eloy, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jose and Anselmo Alvarez, and two sisters, Delia Rivera and Juana Perez.
