CASA GRANDE - Luis Angel (Huerta) Romero, 71, of Casa Grande died on Oct. 25, 2017.
Mr. Romero was born on Aug. 7, 1946, in Mexico City to Manuella Romero and Luis Huerta. He was a simple and quiet man who loved to joke around when he did speak. He always made people smile and laugh. He spent the majority of his life in Lawndale, California, and moved to Casa Grande 10 years ago, where he started a career at Walmart.
He came from a strong Catholic background and was an altar server in his younger years. When he and his wife moved to Casa Grande they attended St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. When he wasn’t working or spending time with his family, he enjoyed taking naps and, of course, fishing. He was known for his kind heart and smile.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Dora; a daughter and son, Charlena Powell and Luis A. Huerta Jr.; his mother, Manuella F. Martinez; two siblings, Alejandra F. and Frank Cordova; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father and two siblings, Sylvia and Gabriel Cordova.
Scripture service at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10, at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel.
