Luis Ruiz Bojorquez, 79, of Coolidge died on December 24, 2022.
Luis was born to Jose C. Bojorquez and Socorro Ruiz on November 23, 1943. Born and raised in Coolidge, he grew up on the East side, known as the Barrio. In June of 1963, at the age of 19 he married the love of his life, Christina, then 17. They raised two daughters and opened their hearts and home to many children. He worked for the Gila River Indian Community Career Center and the Sacaton Schools for over 20 years. On the side, he would work on cars and overhaul motors for his family and friends. Known as Mr. Louie by many, loved as Tata by all.
He was a simple man. He didn’t want much, he would rather give than to receive. His advice and stories were priceless, whether it be about cars, motors, or life, it came from the heart and life’s experiences.
If there is one thing he taught us, it was to treat everyone with kindness and respect, to treasure our families and friendships. In his words, “That is all you’re going to take with you.”
The sound of his voice, laughter and smile will be greatly missed. What must have felt like an eternity, your time has finally come to be with mom, Nana Chris, until we meet again.
He was preceded in death by his wife, son, parents, and 2 brothers. He is survived by his daughters Mariana Granillo, Cindy Dominguez, Sylvia Lujan, a brother Trini Bojorquez, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
