CASA GRANDE - Luis C. Payan, 85, of Casa Grande died on Dec. 4, 2015, at home.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud the Gardens Chapel, with rosary recited at 11:30. The memorial service will follow at noon, with the Rev. Ariel Lustan officiating.
Mr. Payan was born on Feb. 20, 1930, in Guadalupe, Chihuahua, Mexico, and was a son of Alfonso Payan and Pascuala Chavez. He was a concrete worker in construction and a devoted Catholic. He also was a devoted husband and enjoyed gardening, taking walks and staying physically fit.
He was an avid soccer fan, especially of Chivas de Guadalajara. He loved his family unconditionally; they were his pride and brought him the greatest joy.
Survivors include his wife and best friend of 55 years, Maria; six daughters and sons, Luisa Jimenez, Oscar A. Payan and Maria Elena Stanley, all of Casa Grande, Lorena Ortega of Maricopa, Carmen Payan of Phoenix and Luis A. Payan of Riverside, California; a brother, Alfonso Payan of Mexico City; two sisters, Rebecca Loyola and Coyo Aguilar of Mexico; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Maria Elena Payan.
